Nuance Communs., Inc. v. IBM, 544 F. Supp. 3d 353 (S.D.N.Y. 2021)
This case concerned a breach of contract action. The court held that the contract in question entitled Nuance (Plaintiff) to updates to the IBM (Defendant) artificial intelligence software, DeepQA. However, because Nuance did not raise its claim of breach of contract until more than two years after Nuance became aware of the breach, Nuance's claim was barred.

Thaler v. Vidal, 43 F.4th 1207 (Fed. Cir. 2022)
The court held that only a natural person, and not an artificial intelligence, can be an inventor based on the unambiguous language of The Patent Act.
Singular Computing LLC v. Google LLC, Civil Action No. 19-12551-FDS, 2020 U.S. Dist. (D. Mass. June 25, 2020)
The court denied Google's motion to dismiss on the grounds that the patents-in-suit were unpatentable. The patents-in-suit covered a hardware that enhanced AI applications.

Mobley v. Workday, Inc., 4:23-cv-00770, (N.D. Cal. Feb 21, 2023) ECF No. 1
CASE IS PENDING AS OF JULY 31, 2023. A class action lawsuit was filed alleging alleging that Workday engaged in illegal race, age, and disability discrimination by offering its customers applicant-screening tools that use biased AI algorithms.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission v. iTutorGroup, Inc., 1:22-cv-02565, (E.D.N.Y May 05, 2022) ECF No. 1
CASE IS PENDING AS OF JULY 31, 2023. The The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed suit against an employer alleging discriminatory hiring processes via use of AI software. Specifically, the complaint alleges that iTutor "programmed their tutor application software to automatically reject female applicants age 55 or older and male applicants age 60 or older. iTutorGroup rejected more than 200 qualified applicants based in the United States because of their age."
