Introduction

The purpose of this resource is to guide the reader through the steps necessary to create a living trust in the State of Florida. The procedural formalities will be detailed, as well as any recent developments and common pitfalls.

Additionally, each page will have a "Breakdown" box located front and center. The purpose of this box is to give a brief summary of the resources provided on that particular page, and provide further guidance to the layman.

Wherever possible when links are provided, I have attempted to link to a free, convenient resource. However, sometimes highly specific inquiries were beyond the scope of free resources or the time of the author, so in those situations a Westlaw, Lexis, or Bloomberg Law link are provided, where the information can be accessed for a fee. A law library's physical books are also an excellent low-cost or free alternative.

Please see disclaimer before using. A licensed attorney should always be consulted before taking any legal action.

The State Bar Association is ordinarily a good source for referrals for competent attorneys.

This guide does not create in any way, shape or form an attorney-client relationship. Once again, no attorney-client relationship is formed nor should any such relationship be implied. In addition, any information sent by email through the internet is not confidential and does not create a lawyer-client, advisory, or fiduciary, relationship.
