Affordable Care Act - Florida Practice Guide

This chapter discusses The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, (PPACA), the healthcare reform act colloquially known as “Obamacare.” Elder Law clients are presently affected by the law and the Elder Law and Special Needs Attorney will increasingly use its protections as client tools. By January 1, 2014, when the law is fully implemented, there will surely be many more state and federal regulations to help implement, define and refine the law. This chapter treats the law from the perspective of select protections, benefits or requirements of special interest to the Attorney. The annual updates to this book will adjust and illuminate as new rules, laws and practical lessons are developed and learned.
